Can LA INC. help me find a hotel for my meeting?
Yes. LA INC. acts as the liaison between the client and the hotel. We take your information, assess your needs and then find the hotel that is right for the meeting you want to have and the delegates you want to please.
Will working with LA INC. cost my organization money?
No. We are here to help you set up your meeting the way you want it to be, and are at your service to provide you the information we know and you need. We do the legwork; you do the phone work by calling LA INC. And it’s absolutely free. We want you to love LA, so we have to make it happen.
I don’t want to be contacted by every hotel and supplier in LA if I work through LA INC. Are you capable of preventing that?
Yes. We believe in protecting the privacy of the client and that means making sure their contact numbers are not given out unless they want them to be. Meeting planners can choose to be listed or remain confidential on the convention calendar and we do not authorize our membership to contact clients who want to keep their offices confidential.
How many rooms are there in LA that can accommodate a citywide convention?
In Downtown LA there are 3,600 rooms committed to serving the need for accommodations during citywide conventions. In the greater Los Angeles area within a 25-mile radius of the LACC, there are some 58,000 rooms that can be reserved during citywide conventions.
Does each major Downtown hotel have a shuttle to transfer people back and forth from the LA Convention Center?
No. But each conference usually does. Shuttles between the hotels and the LACC are arranged through the meeting planners, not the hotels, and most conferences are organized so that shuttles pick up delegates in the morning or before the general sessions begin and return them to their respective hotels at the end of the convention day. The city does provide fast and efficient DASH service in the Downtown area that costs only a quarter and runs from the LACC to all major commercial points in Downtown LA Usually these stops are within easy walking distance to the major hotels.
How can LA INC. help to increase attendance to my LA event?
Our job is to get your attendees to love LA as much as we do. We have all the promotional pieces and premiums to stir up that excitement. We can help with giveaways, collateral materials, stuffers, media attention, tours and attractions, venue recommendations and more. If your group needs enticement, we have the product.
Are there any ballrooms I can reserve that have ocean views?
In the Los Angeles area, although many hotels offer ocean views, their ballrooms may not. There are a number of hotels LA INC. can suggest that offer extension areas, such as a corridor or terrace outside the ballroom with an ocean view. Also, several beachside properties offer elegant reception areas that overlook the grandeur of the Pacific Ocean.
Where is the closest print shop to the LA Convention Center?
During most conferences, the LACC provides business services including light printing on site. A Kinko’s is located three blocks from LACC at 8th and Figueroa streets.
What is the best way to get from LAX to Downtown LA?
Take the San Diego Freeway (405) North to the Santa Monica Freeway (10) East, which takes you into the Downtown district via the Harbor Freeway (110) North.
What is the taxicab fare from LAX to Downtown LA?
Fares from LAX to Downtown LA is $42, plus a $2.50 airport fee for outbound trips.
What are the taxicab fares from Downtown LA to various parts of LA?
Approximate cab fares from Downtown to LAX is $42; to Pasadena, $30; to Beverly Hills, $31; to Santa Monica, $40; to Hollywood, $23; North Hollywood and Universal Studios $27.
What is the cost of a Super Shuttle or PrimeTime Shuttle for the same trip?
About $15.
Is there a subway system in LA? Where does it go?
Yes, Los Angeles has a subway system. The Red Line runs from Downtown to Hollywood, North Hollywood, Universal Studios and mid-city. Additionally, the Blue Line runs from Downtown to Long Beach, the Green Line from Redondo Beach to LAX and Norwalk, and the new Gold Line from Downtown to Pasadena.
Is the Metro subway safe?
The Metro stations in Los Angeles are not only safe and well patrolled; they are clean and serve as galleries for works by local artists.
What are the Metro fares and how do I buy a ticket?
Fares are $1.25 each way and 25 cents for a transfer or $5 for a Metro Day Pass. You can buy your passage at coin-operated dispensaries at each station. You can get more information on the MTA and its routes by calling 800-266-6883 or checking www.mta.net.

Can we really ski in the morning and have dinner on the beach that same evening?
Yes, you can. The San Bernardino Mountains and National Forest are two hours away from Downtown LA with plenty of snow at Big Bear Ski Area during the winter months. Leave early enough and you can get in a packed day of skiing and be home in time to have a seafood supper at Venice Beach.
